While attendees of this year’s SXSW will not be traveling in person to Austin, festival-goers can explore Congress Avenue and the Red River Cultural District with virtual reality. The festival partnered with VRrOOm to create a VR experience, complete with venues for the festival’s events.

2. The Future of Google Advertising

How ads are targeted is changing. Cookies are going away. Google “will stop enabling cross-site tracking and targeting of individuals outside its own properties such as in inventory it sells through its Google AdX display and video ad exchange,” reports Digiday. But what does this all mean? It means other providers may offer a level of user identity for ad tracking across the web that Google will not.

3. TV Targeting

The biggest broadcaster in the United Kingdom has launched Data Match, which allows advertisers to use their own data for targeting. “It means, for the first time, advertisers can use their own customer data for targeting across ITV Hub, as well as uncover customer-journey insights that are specific to their customers’ viewing behaviours and preferences,” an article in Campaign reports.

4. TikTok: The New Zillow?

Rents are down in big cities, so some real estate professionals are finding new tenants where they are: social media—specifically TikTok. “TikTok puts the content directly in front of the consumer, as opposed to other platforms like Instagram or Zillow where they depend on the consumer to find the content on their own,” said Michael Scavo, founder and managing broker of ChiPads, in a CNN Business article.
